A stunning 3-bedroom, split-level home set into native woodland on the periphery of Kinloss golf course. The house is designed as a contemporary, 1½ storey home, with narrow, well-proportioned gables, widening to form larger public rooms and to incorporate a carport. The roof extends to form a series of covered external spaces, connecting the house to the landscape.

A joint commission for locally sourced, low energy, light-filled homes from two families with adjacent sites in Comrie.

The houses feature a common palette of materials including untreated, durable home-grown larch cladding, dark grey painted redwood windows and profiled fibre cement roof panels.

The houses respond to the gently sloping topography, fine views and southerly aspect of the site, and are arranged to provide a landscaped communal entrance area with private and semi-private decked areas. Both houses utilise air source heat pumps with underfloor heating and solar thermal panels to supplement the hot water supply. The larger house also features a 4kW array of photovoltaeic panels.
