Courtyard Signature Home: Cromarty

An elegant and low profile Courtyard home in the heart of Cromarty village, set just back from the shoreline. Designed with urban living in mind, this sleek and modern home fits seamlessly into Cromarty’s charming conservation area. Its minimalist aesthetic perfectly complements the surrounding walled garden, creating a tranquil retreat.

MAKAR used Scottish Larch and Spruce in this home. Naturally durable timber materials such as Larch are particularly favourable in using externally to avoid the endemic use of chemical treatments. 

The challenges for this project were the transport logistics and the need to close the road by the home at certain key points of the build, and timing deliveries carefully, particularly with Cromarty being a busy tourist destination. However, MAKAR's fast assembly times meant minimal disruption compared to a traditional build. With a fast working team and our n-SIP system, and off-site construction, this home was assembled in just two days.
