Modified Origin Home, The Black Isle

This spacious five-bedroom home was adapted and expanded from the Origin Home design, and recently assembled on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands.

Its precision-manufactured panels use natural materials throughout: untreated Scottish-grown timber and naturally fire-retardant insulation (recycled paper or wood fibre).

Together, they form ‘breathing walls’ that are airtight yet vapour-open, keeping heat in while regulating moisture. The result is a healthy, thermally efficient, low-carbon home. Craning each panel into place cuts on-site time, reduces waste, and keeps build costs down.
