Makar Passive House wins two awards - 'Best New Build', and 'Best product' for the Makar n-SIP at ASBP Awards
We are delighted to announce that at the end of February our certified Passive House in Strathpeffer won awards for Best New Build and Product Innovation from the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products at their annual Healthy Buildings conference.
The ASBP award judges were particularly impressed by the high standard of finish of the completed house, together with the integrated design-for-off-site-manufacture approach taken by MAKAR. Most Passive Houses built to date in the UK are one-off prototypes, and somewhat exclusive as a result. Geanaisean on the other hand has resulted in a replicable system and process which can deliver energy-efficient buildings in a sustainable manner time and time again. The Product Innovation award recognised the value of the sustainable timber panel system that Makar has produced and carefully refined, with years of experience in delivering ‘fabric first’ buildings.
